Looks like the rumors about tickets at Soxfest were true:
CHICAGO -- Individual-game tickets to Chicago White Sox 2005 home games will go on sale Friday, January 14 at 10:00 a.m., two months earlier than in previous years. For the first time ever, tickets will be available at SoxFest, with on-site sales beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Individual-game tickets, excluding the Sox vs. Cubs three-game series, also will be available online at whitesox.com, at the U.S. Cellular Field Box Office, through TicketMaster phone lines at (312) 559-1212 and (866) SOX-GAME and at Chicagoland TicketMaster outlets, including Coconuts and Carson Pirie Scott locations, at 10:00 a.m. Friday.
For the first time in 14 seasons, the White Sox will open the season at home, hosting the Cleveland Indians on Monday, April 4. Other very popular series include the first-ever regular-season visit from the Los Angeles Dodgers (June 17-19) and visits from the New York Yankees (August 19-21) and the World Champion Boston Red Sox (July 21-24).
The 2005 home schedule features 13 weekend series: Seattle (April 15-17), Detroit (April 29-May 1), Baltimore (May 13-15), Cleveland (June 3-5), Los Angeles, the Cubs (June 24-26), Oakland (July 8-10), Boston, Seattle (August 5-7), New York, Detroit (September 1-4), Anaheim (September 9-11) and the final regular-season home series vs. Minnesota (September 22-25).
Ticket sales will be based on availability. Tickets to the White Sox vs. Cubs games will not be available through individual-game sales, but can be obtained through any of the club's ticket plans. The 9-game Minnie Plan starts at $125 and the 13-game Ozzie Plan starts at $160, with each guaranteeing tickets to one game against the crosstown Cubs.
