Looks like the rumors about tickets at Soxfest were true:

CHICAGO -- Individual-game tickets to Chicago White Sox 2005 home games will go on sale Friday, January 14 at 10:00 a.m., two months earlier than in previous years. For the first time ever, tickets will be available at SoxFest, with on-site sales beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Individual-game tickets, excluding the Sox vs. Cubs three-game series, also will be available online at whitesox.com, at the U.S. Cellular Field Box Office, through TicketMaster phone lines at (312) 559-1212 and (866) SOX-GAME and at Chicagoland TicketMaster outlets, including Coconuts and Carson Pirie Scott locations, at 10:00 a.m. Friday.

For the first time in 14 seasons, the White Sox will open the season at home, hosting the Cleveland Indians on Monday, April 4. Other very popular series include the first-ever regular-season visit from the Los Angeles Dodgers (June 17-19) and visits from the New York Yankees (August 19-21) and the World Champion Boston Red Sox (July 21-24).

The 2005 home schedule features 13 weekend series: Seattle (April 15-17), Detroit (April 29-May 1), Baltimore (May 13-15), Cleveland (June 3-5), Los Angeles, the Cubs (June 24-26), Oakland (July 8-10), Boston, Seattle (August 5-7), New York, Detroit (September 1-4), Anaheim (September 9-11) and the final regular-season home series vs. Minnesota (September 22-25).

Ticket sales will be based on availability. Tickets to the White Sox vs. Cubs games will not be available through individual-game sales, but can be obtained through any of the club's ticket plans. The 9-game Minnie Plan starts at $125 and the 13-game Ozzie Plan starts at $160, with each guaranteeing tickets to one game against the crosstown Cubs.

SoxFest will be held Friday, January 14 (5-9 p.m.); Saturday, January 15 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.); and Sunday, January 16 (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. For more information, call the SoxFest hotline at (312) 565-0769. Opening Day 2005 will mark the completion of Phase V renovations, which include the Scout Seating Area and the FUNdamentals baseball and softball skills area for kids.

What a shaft to the people who want to get them at SoxFest. Tickets go on sale at 10am, they wont be able to get them until 5:30pm at the earliest. Kind of strange that they are going on sale this early.

My guess is that there will be many good seats available at SoxFest.

Great, I still can't buy Sox vs Cubs tix like i used to for the whole series. They should have a limited amount available and put a ticket limit of 2 on it or something like they do for high profile rock concerts. I'm really bummed that I have to buy a 9 or 13 game set to go to 1 or 2 of the crosstown games.:(:

Do start the sales at the stadium 15 minutes earlier still?
If they do then I'm there, day after finals.

I have waited out there the past couple of years and they always open the windows before 10a. It was early as 15 min one year and about 10 last year.

I've been at Comisky for the last 5 years when the tickets went on sale, and it seems to me that they always wait until the exact minute before they open the windows.

What REALLY is going to blow is the weather! Its bad enough standing out there in the middle of March when its cold, imagine standing out there in mid-January. SoxFest always falls on the one weekend where it is ass cold outside. Last year it was on the weekend when it got down to about 5 degrees, I think the wind chill was -10. Wont be fun.
