Am I alone in really digging the old white uniforms withe red pinstripes? At $370 I gotta be crazy to really want one. Any chance this uniform will be used again?

On a regular basis? I hope not. It would be fun for a turn-back-the-clock game or weekend though. I never really had much love for the red uni's on the Sox, although I dig their road uniforms from that era with the powder blue. That was a neat color combination. On the home unis, though, I'd leave the red to the Red Sox.

I really, really dig those unis. I've fallen in love with the Mitchell & Ness 1972 Dick Allen jersey, but like you said, $300 for one is rediculous.

Hey, speaking of those 71 unis, I've got an idea.....
Now that we've traded Carlos Lee, let's bring back Carlos MAY to add some pop to our lineup! I heard that we can sign him for pretty cheap!

They had ONE at the Marshalls just off Michigan Ave earlier this year - for 150 - but it was a 3XL. A friend of mine from work was able to wear it...great bargain!!! Zipper front and all...authentic M&N...

Hmm...I think you are talking about the Batting Practice version...that one has the zipper front instead of the button-up.

I'm pretty sure that the regular game jersey was zipper front. The one I saw in the HOF was, and the one on the cover of the Sports Illustrated with Allen smoking a cigarette and juggling baseballs in the dugout was.

Yes, those are how the throwbacks are made too. Did all the teams have zipper jerseys in the 70's? :?:

Here is the BP jersey, with an MSRP of $150...

They have 2 different game jerseys...one from 1971 ($225) and one from 1972 ($300). My guess is the later is more expensive because 1972 was the year Dick Allen won the MVP award...

Why did they change the size of the numbers in 1972? :?:

1971 jerseys were one of a kind. 1971 jerseys had "very slightly" different color than the 1972 and on. 1971 uni's were the last to be made flannel, from 1972 on they were double knit.
