Here is my list of teams left in the playoffs starting with the least desireable world champion and finishing with the most desireable.

T-1. Indians: No Explanation Necessary
T-1. Yankees: No Explanation Necessary
3. A's: Started the season as a flop similar to the Sox, but overcame it. Since misery loves company, it pissed me off. Plus, I have not forgiven them for the early '90's!
4. Mariners: Wouldn't you love to see them choke ala the team whose victory record they tied?? Plus, I have not forgiven them for last year's playoffs!
5. Braves: Buffalo Bills of baseball do not deserve a championship, and I'm tired of seeing them every year. BUT, they are the lessest of these 5 evils so I won't be upset if they win it.

6. Diamondbacks: Not too many unlikeable players. I've always liked Randy Johnson and would like to see him win one. I would also not mind seeing Mark Grace shove a world title up the Cubbies' rear!!

T-1. Skanks
3. Braves - could you be any more tired of a team other than the above?
4. D-Bucks - why can't we try to buy a championship?
5. M's - Last year drops them below the A's.
6. A's - I like softball and beer.

My thoughts exactly.

And if Houston or St. Louis were still around, they would probably be down by the A's. They didn't cause us too much trouble this year but sure caused a lot of pain to scrub fans. They were my heroes the last 2 months.

:) Yeah, it's too bad about the tormenters of the Flubs. They deserved a better fate.

Even if JR were to "buy" a championship, would we show up at the ballpark? We might get 29,000 agame.? MAybe. Is that enough to support a 80 million dollar payroll? I don't know the stats, but don't the D-Backs get at least 40,000?
Here's the question, IF JR were to buy a team like the Marlins or D-Backs, would we show up? I don't know.

I don't know about anyone else, but I am rooting for Arizona to
win it all this year. True, they are an NL team, but I don't want
the Yankees to win it again, nor do I want Seattle after the way
they pounded the Sox last year.

I basically want them for two reasons; first, their owner is a
Chicago guy. Second, I would love to see Mark Grace win a World
Series ring. I mean, come on. How great would it be to see Grace
win a World Championship only one year after Sammy "Thomas
Jefferson" Sosa ran him out of town? It would be, to borrow the
word of one celebrated sportswriter/mediocrity, "delicious."

Do not read what DVG has to say on the matter. He's a heretic to the great baseball legend we currently have on the North Side. Mark Grace was nothing but a good-looking funbum scumbag; Sam-ME Soso is the most unselfish, team-oriented ball player this city has ever seen.
