I dunno, but as of 10:30PM this evening, the local ESPN radio outlet still had Wells as possibly going back to the Yankees. Of course, he has a history of lurching a deal in principle to go to the Yanks, so I won't believe it until he has actually put pen to paper...

Rotoworld has retracted this news, but Wells is in serious negotiations with the Red Sox.

I could see Steinbrenner potentially signing him again just to keep him from the Red Sox. I'm sorry though, I wish him nothing but bad luck in his future endeavors. The way that guy carried himself here in 2001 was a complete disgrace to the White Sox fans. He acted as if he didn't care and I doubt that he really ever did.

If Boston signs him, it means that they are no longer in the running for either one of Pavano or Pedro, as well.
