ESPN.com says it's a $5M/1 yr deal, with $500K deferred. But, I have a question about the deferrment. ESPN.com says that $100K will be paid in 2006, with $200K paid in each of 2007 and 2008. Are others wrong in their interpretation of the CBA if he's getting deferred money (yeah, it's "only" $200K) paid out in the 3rd year after the year it's earned?

Texas seems to be dead-set on having only one type of player.....the guy that can put it over the outfield fence. I know the White Sox are sorta like that, but I think Texas is sold on the idea

I know the White Sox are sorta like that, but I think Texas is sold on the ideaWell, it almost worked for them last year. They almost slugged themselves into the playoffs. They needed a OF/DH but didn't want to spend alot on a guy like J.D. Drew. Now they need to spend the rest of their payroll on starting pitching or make a trade for a starting pitcher. I'm still glad to know that Dye was the Rangers first choice and that they even tried to offer him alot more than us. :bandance:
