Adrian Beltre would be my guess.

Adrian Beltre would be my guess.
Mine too. Wouldn't surprise me if they pull a surprise and sign Delgado, though.

Also possible indeed.

According to the radio here (ESPN Radio 710) it's not Beltre. Delgado is a good guess, tho the article on the Dodgers website says "DePodesta determined to add arms." What other pitchers are out there?

Some Dodgers fans are speculating that it might be Clement. I guess there was talk on a Dodgers radio station that the player is an everyday position player, though. Probably Beltre. Watch them shock everyone and sign Beltran, Drew, or Ordonez.

Delgado. He left Toronto yesterday beaming...as if he knew his destiny was well in hand.

Heck, I'd love for it to be Pavano, keep him out of the al but I still expect him to end up on Boston.

The Dodgers were rumored to be in on Hudson too . . .

I bet it's Jose Valentin.

If it's not Beltre, then my guesses, in order would be: 1.) Delgado 2.) Clement 3.) Drew

One thing I know for sure is that the hotstove is so much fun. Rumors flying around, teams trying to one-up the other. Great stuff!

You don't realize how much that would please me.

Not only would I get to boo him more frequently, but he'd be on a team destined to do worse than the white sox.

All the while tying up the budget of the Royals and cutting them off from any contention for the next few years.

Agreed. I LUV the baseball hot stove. Perhaps that's why I've been glued to either the internet or a radio so much recently.

Does anyone know if this will be streamed online? I'd like to hear the announcement as it is made.

I bet it's Jose Valentin.LOL... the Dodgers used to crave aging veterans on the downhill slide, though none spring to mind as I type this.

Btw, I think it would be great if it were Maggs... if it wasn't meant to be with the Sox, and if he is indeed healthy, I want him as far away as possible.

Not to mention the 81 plus days on the astroturf will do wonders for his completely healed knee.

I wouldn't like that at all. But I would like Maggs to sign in SoCal so I can see him play everyday.

How fun would it be if the Sox did something like this? I can only imagine. We'd probably have 100 replies with guesses on who it is within 10 minutes....

.....and then we'd probably all be let down as the Sox announce they've signed some piece of garbage.

"Jamie Navarro, out of retirement, gives us a much better chance of winning than Randy Johnson."

It'll probably be Beltre. I can't see them signing anyone else unless it's second tier.

Dodgers fans are saying it's Jeff Kent.

KW should make a run at Cora. He hits about the same as Willie but with more power, walks, and better defense. I say we get rid of Wee Wee, to the Dodgers if they'll take him, and have a fine Uribe-Cora DP combo.

Considering Jeff Kent is old and doesn't have much left in the tank, that is not a big signing at all.

Is Kent going to play 1B or 2B? If it's 2B, I would think the Sox would be on Cora like white on rice . . . or risk a very PO'ed 3B coach.
