I'll be happy as long as they have a Dustin Hermanson sideburn night at USCF.:supernana:

I think it's a good move. Bullpen was one of the positions that needed to be solidified. It's a nice start.

How were you guys allowed to post while I was still making the choices? :?:

I think it is a good move by KW.

I'm not thrilled but I'm not that angry either, Just wish we would have filled bigger holes before worrying about this.

I really don't think it's that god awful of a deal; I think a lot of anger here is because we've watched just about everyone we'd like to have seen signed go somewhere else the last few days. We've all been waiting for the Sox to make a move and they bring us... Dustin Hermanson.

It's a decent move IMO.

He performed well as a closer last year, and another arm in the bullpen is welcome anytime!
As for him making $2m next year, we are going to have to expect inflated salaries this off-season

Despite my initial disappointment, I voted "decent" after hearing he was to be considered neither the fifth starter nor the closer.

I voted decent too - but I don't see the difference between decent and good.

As for the signing, it's not much - read: Politte signing last year, but it's something to add to the pen, especially if he's kept as a middle relief guy.

A nice start, but I'm looking for more. Way more.

Ask the Phillies about bullpen troubles and how big they are...

Hermanson should be a long reliever. He's not good enough to be closer or even setup man -- well, maybe on this staff he does.

And this is too much money, and too long a contract, for a long reliever.

Have you seen the deals relievers have been getting this offseason? They are long and expensive.

I voted decent. I think it was overpaying ... but I've thought almost every free agent signing so far has been expensive, so what do I know?? It's just hard to remember that there's still time for more to happen ... I hope ...

I too am in the thinking that everyone has been overpaid for. But I don't think 2.75 mil is all that much. Now if it was 5 mil a year, that is a lot

Hey, he's better than the gaping hole he replaced.
