View Full Version : Anaheim going after Beltran, not RJ

The New York Post claims that the Angels are focusing solely on Carlos Beltran, so much so that they are staying out of Randy Johnson trade talks. If true, that is another team out of the RJ trade talks, and increases the Sox chances of getting him.

As for Beltran, since I assume we are out of those sweepstakes, I'd rather he go to the Angels than the Yankees. Imagine that CF/RF combination for another 4 years. Beltran and Vlad. Wow. And with Garrett Anderson currently in left, that is one hell of an OF. But they still need starting pitching, and it would seem to me that while Beltran is a great player, RJ gives them the better shot at a World Series next year.

I also think that the Angels will land Beltran. Last year they paid $13 million to Kevin Appier to NOT play on their team.

I also read that the Cards have given up on RJ and are going to look at Hudson.


Now if could just become a "first-class" organization, I think RJ would come here.
