I think WSI needs to expand the audio library. I mean there isn't a single Hawk call there. I really need to hear "YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD YES!" or "He Gone" or just any Hawk call.

And, how about a couple of Harry calls, such as, (we did have him first in Chicago). "Holy cow, wouldn't be a home run in a telephone booth". That sort of thing.

There's a lull for a few months.

My personal favorite is the Ron Santo, "OHHHHHHHHHH NO!" If anyone has that, PM me 'cuz I am in need of a new copy. I had one but my hard drive crashed about a year ago and I've never gotten around to getting a new one.

Hawk Harrelson calls the final out of the Sox clincher in 1993. (https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/bschalle/www/chi%20-%201993%20AL%20West%20Champion%20White%20Sox.mp3)

Frank's walkoff homer against the Angels in 2003 (https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/bschalle/www/frankwalkoff.wav)
Aaron Rowand hits a game tying homer off of Antonio Alfonseca (https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/bschalle/www/rowand.wav)
Konerko hits a two run homer off of Joe Borowski to give the Sox the lead the game they were down 8-0. (https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/bschalle/www/konerko.wav) I LOVE how Hawk says "bo~ard" in this clip.
Jose hits his second home run against the Royals in 2003. Listen to Hawk ask for a sacrifice fly. (https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/bschalle/www/jose2.wav)

Hawk goes into full "stretch" mode as Jose hits his 3rd homer off of the Royals. (https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/bschalle/www/jose3.wav)

Chimp brags about Cubs bullpen, Alou lets a pop up drop, Cubs lose to the Expos in Puerto Rico. (https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/bschalle/www/ALOU.wav)

No we didnt, not per the Chicago Media, who says Harry was a cubcaster
forever, and that he started the 7th inning stretch there at the Urinal.

If I'm not mistaken it is the last game of the 1998 season when Brant Brown dropped an easy fly ball that ended up forcing a one game playoff with the Mets. It took radio listeners about 15 seconds to figure out what actually happened because Santo couldn't contain himself on the air. Haha.

One game playoff was against the Giants.

Folks:

There are numerous historic Sox audio cuts in the stories titled WSI AUDIO MEMORIES.

The link is on the main page, under the baseball card of the week. There are different themed pieces like the Sox 59 clincher, Sox of the 60's, Sox of the 70's, and remembering the 1983 season. Just click on the piece you want to read. When it comes up, read or scan through it and you'll find the individual audio links.

Enjoy.

The "HE GONE" is great, but it doesn't seem to be downloadable. I want to download it so my computer says "HE GONE" when I shut down- anybody know where I can do that??

I love the clips the WSI offers and they are a great look into Sox history that I haven't been able to find anywhere else. So, I hope whoever is in charge here keeps them around. However, as a 19 year old it would be awesome to hear some clips from some of the great Sox teams of my life. Like calls from the '93, '94, and '00 seasons. OOO and maybe some interleague White Sox vs. Cubs clips too! That would be SWEEEEEET!!!

Give me time...I still have to create a themed piece on the Sox of the 80's, and the Sox of the 90's. Plus a few others.

Patience my friend...patience.
