Joe Borchard. Wow, just wow.

Interesting... I guess it wil be worth it to go then. I on't have a Single Signed Harold anything, so he and Larussa will be my main targets, with Rowand and Konerko also getting a chance to be part of my collection...

Anyone think the Larussa Q&A will be packed? I might have to sleep outside on friday night to get into that one!!!

Maybe we can ask Garland why he blamed the fans for booing him after he got shelled. When I was at the Bean Town series in late Aug I asked Ben Davis why Garland was such a crybaby..... Didn't get a resonse but he gave me a grin.

Yaaay. Garland will be there! :D: WOW there's my #1 player I want to meet! i sure cant wait to pre-congratulate him on his 2005 20 win season and thank him for those lovely fan comments he graciously made last season!

Seriously though, Larussa, Hawk, Rowand, Baines, Ozzie and Paulie are reasons enough to go. I'll be there all 3 days, cant wait!

A few other things worth noting:

1) The White Sox mascot, Southpaw, will be in attendance.(Will someone please assassinate Southpaw? I'd do it but I have my whole life ahead of me. What about an older, even more bitter Sox fan who doesn't think mascots belong in baseball?)

2) Frank Thomas, as usual, will not be there. Is anyone else perennially upset by this? I know he's never going to be there but every year I just kind of hope that he is. I guess it would probably be hard to control the crowds that would want to get Thomas signatures. I dunno, it would be nice one year if he would take a weekend break from his 5 month(in this case, 9) Vegas vacation and hang out with the fans a bit.

3) Tony LaRussa's favorite charity is the Animal Rescue Foundation...interesting.

Favorite SoxFest moment: Last year I'm walking out of the SoxFest area and I see Jose Valentin walking the other way with a gorgeous Latina woman. As he passes me I clap him on the back and go "Have a good season Jose." He stops, turns around, looks very surprised, and goes "Thanks." and leaves. It was hilarious, mostly because he's shorter than I am. I know you all hate him, but I always like Jose. Sad to see him go.

Actually Frank has been there many times. I have got his autograph two different years and he has been there other years were I did not get his autograph. Personally I'd rather have him in Vegas doing his rehab, that seems to make more sense than going to Soxfest.

Is that right? I didn't do any research, my apologies. I've only been to two other years of SoxFest. But honestly, about Southpaw...

It's not a choke when you lose to the better team.
The Cards were the best team in baseball in 2004, according to the standings.

Then he will ask when the last time your team got to the WS!
Then me and my drunk friends from Alsip will kick the bejesus out of him!

Hopefully in the coming weeks they'll add to this list because right now it's as lame as it can be. LaRussa's the biggest attraction.
Perhaps they can get some Sox greats from the 60's or 70's to attend. (That is if they know how to locate them...LOL)

Ahhhhh...The Sox fest. How could i forget those wonderful moments. How i love the sox fest dearly. I can't wait to go an get a LaRussa Autograph. But seriosuly..5 bucks? are you kidding me? jk Anywho, in the past, they have been awsome. I've got Ozzie's Autograph and an autpgraphed ball with like 5 sox-lums on it. (Black jack and someothers) I want to get that "old school" sox hat with the guy batting. I love that one. The other one i want is the one with those two "cross socks". I'm hoping to find some awsome stuff! Oh yeah...Last sox fest..I got an albert bell jersey for 10 bucks. WHAT A DEAL! it was in that garage sale thing where everythings like REALLY CHEAP. :D:

We'll be returning from Cancun that day and as of now we're not sure on flight arrival so I've asked them to not schedule that session as of yet.. I'll advise when our travel plans are set. :D:

While doing the autograph sessions, when the guys are signing some of them will stop and let you get pictures. I met EL, CLee in the elevator last year. The Atrium bar at night is good place to meet players too. A lot of them hang out up there. Last year WH, EL, Melton, Cora, AR, Hickey, Black Jack and others were there.

Two years ago, I stopped by Sox Park and walked into the admin office at the northwest corner of the building, and bought the tickets there for face value. You can give it a try if you're in the neighborhood.
