Updating previous items, Sports Network reports Anaheim Angels DH Tim Salmon (shoulder) may miss the 2005 season, as anticipated, following the completion of shoulder surgery Tuesday, Nov. 30, to repair a rotator cuff in his left shoulder. Salmon should be ready to resume baseball activities in nine months.:(:

That's a big bat out of their lineup. And with Jose Guillen gone,
that could be a big hole to fill.:(:

He didn't do much when he was healthy. He should just retire.

I thought he retired years ago anyway, has he done anything since his rookie year?

I thought that it had been decided during the 2004 season that Salmon would miss all of next season. Their offense will still probably be solid- they'll find replacements for everyone they lose.

He had a decent year in 2002 when the Angels won the WS (22 HR, 88 RBI, .503 SLG) and hit .346 in the World Series. Plus he did a great ESPN commercial a few years back.
