The Indians signed utilityman Jeff Liefer and OF Andy Abad to minor league contracts and invited them to spring training.

Liefer has -32 RCAA/.693 OPS in 269 career games, including a .393 SLG, .258 OBA, .651 OPS, -3 RCAA in 16 games with the 2004 Brewers.
