View Full Version : What to expect from Freddy

We had him for a little over half the year, and he did a fairly good job. Does anyone care to share their expectations or projections for Freddy over the course of a full season? Think he will pitch better than Mark?

An ERA of around 4, with lots of longballs. More strikeouts than Mark by a lot.

Good performances when I get out there to see him play...and hopefully a good start in game two in the playoffs. If not, a good golf game next october and a little hanky panky with Ozz's neice.

Buehrle has good strikeout numbers now, in fact Garcia only had 19 more than him. Garcia's ERA blew up in the second half with us, I hope he can survive a full season here. I reallly wish we'd move the fences back, this is crap.

3.5-4 ERA with lotsa K's.

I have a feeling that the crazy HR park that is the Cell is going to cool down a bit somehow next year, but that might be wishful thinking. It may have just been an aberration.

I think the biggest cause was the lower roof and the opening under the roof which allowed for the strong winds which were prevelant in night games to carry the high fly balls better.

I think Garcia will be pretty good.

The deal for Freddy Garcia was terrible. I expect him to not only be an everyday, HOF calibur 5 tool catcher, but also be an All-Star, HOF right-fielder who can hit .350, 40HR, 115RBI, and staff ace who goes 21-5 with a 2.43 ERA all at the same time. KW is stupid and got ripped off. If Freddy can't live up to the expectations I listed above, this trade will go down as the grossest of all failures in the history of the Chicago White Sox.
