as the new voice of the Giant Corporation up north. I loved how in the last
few weeks, the Chicago Media rushed to line up candidates, "Plant" innuendo
to other possible candidates, and basically do what the Chicago Yellow Media
does best........Promote Propoganda in the name of the Blue Sheep.

His opening comments at his "press" conference? "This is the Best play-by-play
job in sports" followed by "....the Best fans in baseball" seemed to be
Pre-written, as the Chicago Media Propoganda Machine was swiftly put into action. Those same comments were uttered by every lazy yellow outlet in the city.

What I loved was how the cubs website mentions that Dan OBrien
was offered the job last week, and had actually agreed to terms, all good
except that he still was under contract with ESPN, a pompous and presumptuous move. OBrien had been "approached" by an anonymous member of the "chicago media" and asked what he thought about his "being considered for one of the plum positions in baseball and sports, announcing for the chicago cubs", and he Mentioned point blank that NOONE contacted him, HE was under Contract, Was very Happy with ESPN, and that
the cubs job wasnt all that it was cracked up to be, and NOT the plum job
the media was painting it out to be.

So he goes from not knowing anything, Contradicts the Medias portrayal
of the job, and suddenly in back-room deals, is still offered the job,
without the Evil Corporation not even asking ESPN for permission to talk
to the guy. Glad he didnt go.

I've seen this posted a couple of times. I'd love to have a source so I could use it with some credibility against some of my loser cub fans!
