"I speak to him once every couple of days," Katz told MLB.com on Monday. "He's on vacation in Paris and the phones aren't easy. Of course, when the Cubs have to make a very difficult decision and Sosa will be needed for two things potentially: Revoking his no-trade clause and appealing to remove his '06 year from his contract, Sosa makes himself curiously unavailable in Paris. He could easily decide to make himself available while in Paris, but obviously decided not to. It's really easy to work with Sammy Sosa.

What in god's name does Sammy Sosa need in Paris? This is the type of guy who's idea of culture is going to the water slide park at Indiana Beach.

This doesn't deserve its own thread, so I figured I would throw it in here.

The Rays have discussed a Joey Gathright-for-Sammy Sosa deal with the Cubs Did some hack FoxSports.com, or did they really say that the Rays and Cubs have discussed a Joey Gathright for Sammy Sosa deal? :o:

Edit: I just noticed they also list Ross Gload as the Sox DH. Apparently that other guy, what's his name, is gone. Frank something. :?:

After he's done, does he plan on cracking the empty bottles over his wife's head?

Sammy is one of the games greatest ambassadors, he's in France to curry favor to have them build a world class baseball stadium so we can have the 2007 season opener in Paris. Baseball is a uniting force in the world and due to the last few years we feel that we should step in and better the world and baseball. Sammy Sosa can do that!
:tool

With Maggs gone Sammy Sosa could fill an immediate hole on this team. Straight up for Paulie
:KW

Sammy is one of the most misunderstood ballers in the game today. He bleeds for the game and fans and will long be rememberd as the greatest player in chicago history. HEY SOX FANS HE WAS A SOX ONCE AND IF YOU'D HAVE GOTTEN OFF YOUR COUCHES AND COME TO THE GAMES WE COULD HAVE KEPT HIM.

Sammy and the French must share the same "Gladiator" mentality.
