The addition of these distribution service agreements brings Comcast SportsNet Chicago’s subscriber count to over 3.0 million from its 30 affiliates. The announcement was made by James J. Corno, Senior Vice President/General Manager for Comcast SportsNet Chicago.

Comcast SportNet Chicago will launch on the following systems beginning with the start of the Chicago Bulls regular season:
- DIRECTV (satellite distributor)

“We realize there was plenty of concern from DIRECTV subscribers not receiving our network over the past few weeks,” said Corno. “We’re very excited to announce DIRECTV subscribers will not miss a regular season Bulls game starting this weekend. With our unrivaled coverage of our pro teams, to our Bears post-game and weekly press conference coverage, to our comprehensive line-up of local sports news and talk programming, we look forward to completing our distribution potential by adding the remaining distributors not currently receiving our network.”

Comcast SportsNet will be making additional announcements as new distributors add the network to their channel line-ups. Subscriber questions as to when service will be available in areas not listed should be directed to their local cable or satellite provider.

According to lyngsat.com, comcast sport net Chicago will be at ch. 429. They had WCIU listed long before it was broadcast. It looks like it's on the way.

there must be a marketing reason that the sox are trying to reach those towns all over, and it sounds like a good thing. hopefully the number of sox fans will multiply over the coming years...(good sox fans).
