It has some effects on the Sox, as it involves one of our divisional foes. The Royals have traded Darrell May and Ryan Bukvich to the Padres for Terrence Long, Dennis Tankersley, and cash.

Give SD some credit. 19 game losers aren't easy to find in today's market. :D:

Darrell May will have a breakout season next year, especially in Petco Park. He's not as bad as his 2004 stats would have you believe...

Sox always had good success against May so I'm not happy to see him go to the NL!

But he's also not as good as his 2003 states would have you believe, but that might be offset partially by combining an NL switch and a move to petco.

Expos released RHP Rocky Biddle.
Biddle underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum last month and isn't very likely to pitch in the majors next season.

It sucks to see Biddle go out like that.

I remember a few games when Long was with Oakland where he killed the Sox.

I always thought with his speed that he'd be a good fourth outfielder who can cover ground, run a little and have a little pop in his bat.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Sox re-sign him, he would bring something the pitching staff lacks.

Attitude.

Attitude.True - but he does have an abundance of what the Sox unfortunately already have - suckitude.

Perhaps the Sox could sign him to a multi-year deal, for league min in 2005 and heavy on incentives for the subsequent years. The Yanks did this with Lieber.
