Has anyone here ever heard of a Sox pitcher by the name of Phil Macy from Greenfield, IN? Or perhaps you could direct me to a site where I could find something on him? I'm guessing he might have played 50 or so years ago.

Any help much appreciated:D:

I did a search on www.baseball.reference.com (http://www.baseball.reference.com) and nothing came up.

According to the 2004 White Sox media guide, there is no listing for that name. That means he never played with the Sox themselves but he might have been in their minor league organization.

Any help much appreciated:D:I couldn't find anyone who ever played in the major leagues with a last name Macy. And no one from Greenfield, IN. Three from Greenfield, MA, and one each from Greenfield, OH and Greenfield, MO. None of them had names even close to Macy.

...that it was probably circa 1941 when Macy played. I have a photo of him in a Chicago uniform. I don't suppose there's any farm team info out there??

I appreciate everyone's help. Thanks!

There was a Phil Masi who played in majors from 1939--1952--he was a catcher and played for Boston Braves then came to the Sox in 1950-1952. according to the record he was born in Chicago and died in Mt. Prospect, Ill. in 1990..He also played one year ( 1949 ) in Pittsburg..
