My vote would go to this man:

:rowand

I can already hear the Konerko camp screaming in disbelief.

Either way, given the way the team performed this season, the winner deserves one of these: :anon:

Either Konerko or Rowand is deserving. I couldn't decide between the two of them.

Aaron Rowand.

I just pray 2004 wasn't a fluke.

rowand over konerko and shingo. you could rely on rowand day in day out for above average D in the outfield and soild hitting every day.

Yes, truly a world's tallest midget contest if there ever was one.

Talk about voter apathy, I'm not even bothering to waste my time with this one.

don't know what you're laughing at. i would bet that konerko will get more mvp votes than anyone else on the team.

 yourself.

i wouldn't call this exactly a scientific result. let's see who gets more votes amongst actual voters.

the fact rowand gets more votes here doesn't surprise me. he's more popular. it's silly to suggest rowand was more valuable to the sox this year than pk. he's not even in second place. that would be carlos lee. and perhaps even behind mark.
there isn't a bigger rowand rooter here than myself, but, he's chosen here because he was such an unexpected surprise.

does anyone know if there is a concensus of sox players who is the team mvp?
when might that come out? and when is the al mvp chosen?

Rowand was surprisingly good and deserves a lot of credit, but CLee and PK were the guys who came up biggest this year. It's a tight call, but I said CLee. Not taking anything away from PK or Rowand, though - they had really good years. (And when we're talking MVP, I go for everyday players over pitchers, except in situations where a pitcher is off the charts fantastic.)
