As reported on CBS Sportsline.com Rocco Baldelli and Lance Berkman will both need knee surgery. Neither of the injuries were related to baseball...

Baldelli (http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/story/7859651)

Baldelli injured the knee on Oct. 24 while playing baseball with his younger brother at his home in Cumberland, R.I.Berkman (http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbulletin/Lance%20Berkman%20may%20miss%20the%20start%20of%20 next%20season%20after%20tearing%20the%20anterior%2 0cruciate%20ligament%20in%20his%20right%20knee%20w hile%20playing%20flag%20football.)

Berkman may miss the start of next season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee while playing flag football.I wonder who's contract will be voided first?

I wonder if some of the comments made by the Astros brass were a little dig at Jeff Kent. It was said that Berkman was honest, forthcoming, and accepting resposibility for this injury. None of this "hurt myself washing my truck" stuff like Kent was spouting.

:gulp:

Edit: a snippet from ESPN.com...
"I think it was an unfortunate event," Purpura [Astros GM] said. "But the fact that Lance was absolutely and totally forthright with us and has absolutely accepted responsibility shows the kind of person he is, the kind of character he has, and from that point of view, it's an unfortunate incident.
