In the first game of the annual All-Star trip to Japan, the American All-Stars defeated the Japanese All-Stars 7-2. Clemens started and went 4 2/3 innings. David Ortiz and Vernon Wells both had two RBIs for the Americans. Seven more games are scheduled 3 in Tokyo at the Big Egg and single games in Fukuoka, Osaka, Sapporo and Nagoya.

I'd like to see these games. Even on tape delay.

Ho, hum!! Another win in Fukuoka (home of the Hawks.) MLB now 4-0 this trip (unless you count the home run derby loss.)

The MLB All-Stars fell to the Japanese All-Stars 3-1 at the Osaka Dome. Rodger Clemens started and pitched into the sixth.

I've never seen the Osaka Dome, anybody tell me how good it is for pitching?

I always wondered why they never showed these games in America? I know people would be intrested.

I would love to be able to watch these games. If MLB ever put decent brainpower together and launched an all baseball all the time channel for a very reasonable fee, then Japanese games and a regular diet of Japanese major league games would be great to watch. Imagine waking up to a live game as the Dragons beat the Giants, 3-2.

Five or six years ago one of the Fox regional affiliates WAS showing them. They actually had Hawk and Tom Paciorek do the 'play by play.'

Those two weren't in Japan, they were in a studio watching the tape of the game and doing 'play by play.'

I watched two of them.

Five or six . . . ? That was actually during the strike. I was at one of those games, had pretty good seats too.

I wouldn't mind seeing the series get played here once in a while. I'm sure they'd draw well. I'm also pretty sure that, with the success of Ichiro (and others), that people might be a bit curious to see the best the NPB can offer in person.

I'm talking about watching the MLB All Stars play the Japanese All Stars AFTER the season ended. They did not play each other during the 94 labor impasse.
