Military grenade shell found inside Wrigley Field

Chicago police reported the discovery of a military grenade inside Wrigley Field this morning.

The M12 military grenade did not contain explosives and no injuries were reported, said Chicago police news affairs spokeswoman Josephine DelRio.

Del Rio said the grenade was found on the right-field side of the park shortly before 8 a.m.

The Chicago police bomb and arson unit was investigating the incident.

Wow, can you imagine if the place would of blown up. What a tragic event that would of been.

Good thing no one was hurt, and I do mean that.

I wouldn't put it past the Tribune to plant that grenade. Once the damage occured they could have finally got the ball rolling on the renovations.

Who would be surprised to see this:
After a cursory investigation the Cubs have concluded that it was a Sox fan who put the bomb by Wrigley Field. According to John McDonough there is no evidence that it was done by a Sox fan but they're sure that it was a Sox fan since Cub fans never do any wrong.
