Potential Free Agent List as of today at http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1911763

Not sure if it's been posted in another thread, but thought I'd post it so someone who hasn't seen can view it quickly. I was disputing between Talkin Baseball and here, but I guess the main focus here is who we would like for our beloved Palehose, and who are realistic possibilities. (If posted already or in the wrong place, sorry, feel free to delete/move) Discuss and such.

If you're going the multiple mid-level route, I'd add one of Shuey/Powell. Aesome relievers at about 3-4mil. Then bring back Cal Eldred for a mil (or get Terry Mulholland). Relatively cheap way to develop a dominant pen.

RHP Carl Pavano - made 3.8 mil, we could probably nab him for 2 years/18 mil.

OF J.D. Drew - made 4.2 mil, we could probably sew him up for Carlos-ish money, 3 years/25 mil.

LHP Eddie Guardado - made 4 mil, could probably nab him for 2 years/10 mil.

Can you imagine the excitement these 3 moves would generate?

These moves would roughly substitute for Magglio's money in the payroll (about 22 million actually), and address 3 big needs of ours: Starting pitching, Bullpen and Outfield.

Smaller deals: C Todd Greene. Made 550k, hit .282/10/35 for the Rockies, age 33. Could address a big need at C for cheap.

Pavano will get a longer term offer at similar annual salary & IIRC, the M's have an option on Guardado - he aint' going anywhere unless it's in a trade.

Ah. Too bad about the option on Steady Eddie.

I'm sure Drew and Pavano are going to want longer term deals than that.

Scott Boras is going to rake in the dough this offseason. He represents Beltran, Beltre, Ordonez, Varitek, Drew, Lowe, and Millwood (as well as others).
