I was wondering how Jim Parque was doing. I saw him in Spring Training when I was in Arizona, and he signed all this White Sox stuff. I think the Sox should give him a chance at being the #5 starter.

You mean the number 5 starter in AA right?

Yeah, he tried calling me last night but when I picked up the phone all I could hear was the Phone on the other end crashing to the floor and then Silence. His wife emailed me later that his arm had fallen off again and he wouldn't be able to pick up the phone for another 18 months.

"You guys need anyone to give up some quick runs in a playoff game or something?"

He played 12 games for the D'Backs AAA team, compiling a 3-2 record with a 6.30 ERA and an amazing 17 k's in 50 IP. Frankly, I'd rather have Grilli right now than Parque (actually I don't want Grilli, either).

I was driving home earlier, and I noticed that my speedometer was at 55 MPH. That's about what the speed is on Parque's fastball, and so, he shouldn't be pitching anywhere.

That home run borchard hit was so incredible. I think that even if he hits .150 he deserves a roster spot. That kind of moonshot is stuff only bonds and dunn can do. simply amazing.
'nuff said.

Schilling? Bah! I heard he got badly injured and can barely walk. Wake me when he does something meaningful.

So close to being funny, and yet so far. It had potential anyways.

Seeing as this thread lacked an intelligent reply to the question, Jim Parque officially anounced his retirement from the game of baseball sometime during the season. There was a thread created here.

Parque is working the drive through window at Wendy's, as former teammate Carlos Castillo makes the fries.
