When was the last time the White Sox won eight in a row? It's easier to ask the question here than do the research. Winning eight in a row in the regular season is hard enough, but eight in a row to win the World Series after being three outs from elimination and down three games is unbelievable.

probably 1983 I will gladly bet. am I right? To put a streak of 10 plus wins, you need SOLID 1 thru 5 starters. Period. Sox have used the #5 starter as a sort of an attic, to store rubbish and unused material

Didn't we win around 10 in a row in 2000? I believe that Cleveland & New York were swept by us.

I was jut going to post this. In early 2000 we swept Cleveland and New York on the road back to back, that was 7 games in a row.

Beat Cleveland on the home return too to make it 8 in a row.

The last time the White Sox won 8 in a row was in '03 on July 18th through to 07/25. The teams beaten during that streak were the Tigers (3), Indians (2), Blue Jays (2), and Tampa Bay (1).

Yeah remember that was the Hawk bet that he would shave his head if they did 10 in a row, but they ended up doing i think 10 out of 11 or something and he did it anyway. Anyone have any pictures of the bald Hawk or know where to get them??

13 of 14. Sox lost to TB on 07/26 but began a 5 game win streak against the Rays on 07/27, swept KC in KC (3), and defeated Seattle (1) on 08/01.

If I recall correctly Hawk didnt have a choice. I believe some players pulled him in the locker room and they shaved his head when they went on that nice streak.

I want to say Buehrle was the main one involved.

And Hawk got his head shaved by Buerhle in the lockeroom shower.

The short-term memory loss on this board sometimes is astounding.

You're correct. I should have read ahead.

After a little research anyway, the Sox longest winning streak in '83 was eight games between September 5-13.

Im saying 1983. anyone know?The Sox won 10 straight in 1965 and 1967. I think their longest win streak is 12 games between June 17-27, 1961.

Ahhh yes. That was a Saturday night game in which Porzio gave up a 5 runs early in the game, but a Sandy Alomar Jr. 3-run homer made the score 5-4. (I think.) That was also the game in which Frank was on second with two outs , and Maggs hit a bloop single. Frank waited in between second and third for the ball to drop when Hawk said;
:hawk
"Come on Frank! DAMN!!! THERE'S TWO OUTS!!"

:rolling:

Hawk was also ripping on Manuel for allowing Rick White to pitch to Aubrey Huff with runners on second and third with two outs, Huff doubled to which Hawk repeatedly used a monotone voice saying;
:hawk
"I don't understand."

Okay, correcting myself, I think their longest winning streak is 13 games in 1908.

The Sox won 19 in a row in 1906.

Actually, as I understand it, they had an 11 game winning streak beginning on August 2. On August 13, they played to a 0-0 tie. Then they began an eight game winning streak on August 15. So technically, they had a twenty game unbeaten streak but only an 11 game winning streak.

I remember that. I started laughing when Hawk yelled at Frank. The Sox are a terrible team when it comes to baseball fundamentals.
