Somewhat interesting article over at Baseball Prospectus about MLB training staffs: http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=3590

The White Sox had the 3rd fewest days lost to the DL at about 400. Half of those are probably Ordonez and Thomas. (I'd like to get some more information on this though, is there any place on the web that has days lost to the dl info?)

So, if the Sox payroll was about $65mil (please correct me if I'm wrong) the loss of payroll to the DL on Thomas and Ordonez would be about $10mil, or roughly 15% of the total payroll. It's hard to win your divison when 15% of the money you spend is lost on the DL...

Is this some type of knock on KW or the training staff??
You can't scout an injury, and the training staff/ team docs do what they can. You can't expect these things to happen.

Thomas and Maggs missed a combined ~170 games. Maggs lost morre, and he was at 14 million, Frank was at what, 8 million?

They lost 1/3rd of their payroll for better than half the season. show me another team in that situation that finished above .500.
