Regarding the threads about the Sox and their radio contract negotiations, vote for the station from which you want the Sox to broadcast.

I voted the Score for if no other reason, strength of signal. You can hear 670 clear into Ohio heading East during the day and of course they become strong upon nightfall.

It really doesn't matter though.

I really don't care as long as it's got a decent signal in the western suburbs. I'm sick and tired of the signal suddenly crapping out at 8:00 on summer nights.

Sirius Satellite Radio. Of course this would have to be a package deal between MLB and Sirius. I hope it becomes reality since AM/FM doesn't do me a damn bit of good here on the east coast, unless the Sox are playing Baltimore or an interleague game in D.C, in which case I'll be there in person anyway.

1000 for quality, 670 for signal

Also WCKG is 105.9 I doubt very seriously that any FM station would be interested in the Sox.

I get 670 up here after dark.

That's one thing I hated when WMVP became an ESPN affiliate. I remember being able to hear White Sox broadcasts up in Minnesota when 1000am wasn't ran by ESPN. WSCR 670 comes in cleary up north. I can't even get ESPN about 80 miles northwest of chicago at night. :?:

Ok, you convinced me, The Snore gets my vote because of the signal.

Not to mention they don't have Moronetti........

Oddly enough, I can get AM1000 better than AM670, so they get my vote. Maybe it is some atmospheric anomaly or something.

I dont care, as long as they keep Rooney and Farmer, I love them. I like Wills too, but I guess a move would probably put him in the outhouse?

I can pick up 670 great here all day. That's why it gets my vote.

I gotta vote for 670 the Snore.

1) It has a better signal
2) It would provide less air time for their on-air personalities
3) Mac Jurko & Harry would not be interrupted for the "Drill-Rod" pre or postgame show.

As far s XRT goes.

Dude, go see some counseling. I agree, Billy Corgan on as Cubs correspondent is really lame and they ignore the Sox, but still they're a quality music station. For me it's refreshing to put on a rock station and not have to hear THE SAME CRAP OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Their programming is much more unpredictable, which is very refreshing.

I'm guilty. XRT is still my favorite FM station - Cub bias or not. It's about the music, not baseball.

WBBM 780-AM.Hey,good ratings, plus they got the Bears (okay, bad example!).Plus, they had the Sox before (1980-81).

But another choice,WSCR 670-AM for sentimental reasons, when the Sox were on 670 when it was WMAQ.

I'm with you, AM1000 after sun set in my area is much clearer then 670 .

If we are going for signal then 890 WLS should get the nod as the most powerful signal in radio in the country, or least it used to be.

Uh folks...this is a thread about your thoughts on which station the Sox should be on. It's not about all the crappy music everyone listens to and which stations play or don't play it.

But I voted for 'CKG. I would love to have Jimmy Shorts doing play-by-play!
"Konkredo swings and nails a shot to left! It's off da wall! Fisk is gonna score!"

I like the way you think. But put Kevin Matthews....uh..I mean Jimmy Shorts in as the color guy on TV in place of DJ. At least people would get a laugh here and there.
