Either way I wasn't rooting for the AL, but it is even worse that the Loveable Losers of the East are the AL reps. Now we have to hear about curses and how good of a story it is that the cursed Red Sox are in the WS. I think I'm going to hurl. Come on Spring Training, I can't wait.

No way. I hate the East Coast Cubs.

I'm rooting National League this year, preferably the Cardinals.

that east coast cub stuff is bs.

boston has never been a town or team of losers. for the life of me i can't understand why so many white sox fans would make that connection. boston has a rich tradition of great teams and players.
get off that stupid cub/red sox wagon.

if the cards make it, i'm all for them to win it all.
i can't hate on tony larussa.

i hate how everyone thinks the red sox are some underdog... they're a moneyball team as bad as the yankees are.
although it would be nice to stop hearing about these stupid curses someday....

I think I'm gonna pull for the BoSox all the way. I love Larry Walker and have nothing against the Cardinals, but you can't root against this Red Sox team. They just GOTTA do it. The Astros I would only root for if the Yankees won this series.

Red Sox/Cardinals would be a cool series because they've met before.. the Cardinals beat them twice if I'm not mistaken (46 and 67, both in 7 games). It would be a cool historical matchup. And both teams' fans drench themselves in red. Not so much the Red Sox fans, but I wonder if they'll try to outdo the Cardinal faithful.

Red Sox got home field. And they would have had it even if homefield wasn't predicated on the All-Star outcome, because the AL used to get iit in even-numbered years. It's all in place for them. They have to do it.

The Red Sox actually have 5 world Championships, all before 1919 don't they? And 11 pennants. They've also seen game 7 in 46, 67, 75, and 86. They're WAY ahead of us and the cubs in the success department, even if it's petty. At least they've been there. And the list of great players they've had far surpasses that of ours.

I'm just saying here that as much as the Red Sox have been viewed as losers, we're a lot worse.

Maybe we are, but we don't complain about it.

The Red Sox are losers because they revel in being losers. They are the Cubs of the East. I've had the misfortune to go to a game at Fenway Park... I could have been at Wrigley Field and probably wouldn't have noticed a difference.

**** the Red Sox. I'm really not heartbroken they won the pennant because although my dislike of the Red Sox is greater than that of the Yankees, to beat them in such a hilarious way is at least somewhat sweet. But I have no ill feelings for either St. Louis or Houston.

Go National League.

Go Cardinals...

Go houston....

How funny would it be if the BOSOX get past the yankmees, just to be defeated by Roger Clemens? AHAHAHAHAHA..... Oh man I'd love it.

I'm rooting hardcore for the Redbirds though. I hate GIDPJeffKENT. As well as the killer B crap. I hope to god the whitesox nab Beltran though, unbelievable what he does, now that I finally have T.V. and can see it. WOW.

Let the "curse" live. This is what Ben Affleck gets for sticking his nose in places he doesn't belong.

I love the Cards but I gotta cheer for the Bo Sox here... they were down 3-0 and came back to win! That's heart...something our team hasn't had in decades!

Plus if they win... the talk of the curse will finally be over...for boston... and the cubs will be the only "cursed" team left! I think its poetic justice for the cubbie fans the only ones left believing in curses! Cuck the Fubbies!

It not White Sox fans who have made the connection it's the Cub fans who are acting like they have been with Red Sox all along.......I find that funny since the Red Sox traded Nomar to the Cubs and the northsiders end up choking, Cub fans are to stupid to realize they were the suckers in the deal!!:D:

Cub fan speaking "What are you talking about how can this be a classic World Series without the Cubbies, I know St. Louis is a historic franchise, the Astros have never been there in their 40 plus years, and we all know about the Red Sox......but this can't be a great series cause the Cubbies are not there the media told me so.....even though they suckered us in the Nomar deal I am still going to root for the Boston Red Cubs oopps uh ..I mean Red Sox!! Come on Red Sox nation can us Cubbie fans tag along we want to feel special too!!"

Red Sox fan speaking " No leave us alone and stop holding our d$ck!"

RK:

I say it made me sick because you would think Boston has suffered the most of the baseball teams. So they show the fans waiting for something exciting to happen in "beautiful" Fenway, when in fact the Red Sox should not have much to complain about. Besides the fact that the Red Sox have won a WS after the White Sox, they have also been to the WS much more, and have had much more postseason success. Give me a break, the Red Sox are pissing me off almost as much as the Cubs.

I saw on the news last night that Red Sox hats are flying off the shelves........... in Chicago. I also saw hordes of people cheering at Murphy's like it was Landsdown street or whatever you call it. I don't think many of these hat buyers or Murphy's revelers were White Sox fans. That's why the Red Sox are known as the East Coast Cubs. However, UNLIKE the Midwest Cubs, the Red Sox didn't complain about announcers, headphone wearing dorky fans, goats, umpires, or the press when they were down 3-0, they actually showed some balls and came back to win. That's what keeps them from being the East Coast Cubs. They're close, but as someone pointed out earlier in this thread, they've at least been respectable over the years, not the perennial losers the Cubs have been who automatically think that making the World Series is a reward for sucking for 100 years.
