...did the Marlins actually lose money?

I seem to recall reading somewhere that they did.

Maybe that was a different team in a different sport?

Well heres the thing there were alot of Free Agents in 2003 and yes we did lose money and 2 Key Players (Derek Lee, Pudge) and basically the payroll we had wouldnt support those players payroll.
