Could anyone not argue that the Yankees, Red Sox and Cards are indeed the best 3 teams in baseball and deserve to be there?

For all the flaws that people claim the playoff system has, the 3 slots that are filled right now are with the 3 best teams and the 3 teams that deserve to be there.

Boston and the Cardinals are the best two teams this year. I think the Yankees are a distance third, and possibly fourth or even fifth best team behind the surging Astros and solid Braves.

I think you could argue whether or not the Yankees are the third best team.
