Seems Mark Buehrle was correct in his comments on the Twins. But that doesn't take away what they accomplished again this season.

I'd love for the Sox to make the post season three years in a row.

I could have sworn Cowley used another "anonymous" source for his "first round and done" quote. IIRC, Buehrle was talking about how the 1987 and 1991 Twins won the World Series, and none of these guys on the current team were on either one of those teams.

Santo:

No Mark said that he felt the Twins would play one week longer then the Sox and said if they went beyond the first round if any of the Twins wanted to call him he'd apologize to them.

This only proves that Mark is a better prognosticator than pitcher.

The Twins now have the Curse of the Buehrle.

MB was the best starter the Sox had this season.

Did u see the twins game 2 games ago. Torri made what whould have been an awsome running catch but then ran into the wall and droped to ball. Instead of taking away a home run like he does so often, he gave one away, hah, i laugh and Hunter. That "Torrie the Hunted" sign at the sox game after he plowed Burke was great.

He's a pretty damn good pitcher. I don't want to get into this arguement again because it's already been had

He can take it. He's from the hood.

Compared with more affluent areas, Pine Bluff is a pretty rough town even by Arkansas standards.

He's a pretty damn good pitcher. I don't want to get into this arguement again because it's already been hadMB was the best starter the Sox had this season.I probably should have put my comments in teal, but please LIGHTEN UP! Sure, Mark was our best pitcher and I never said he wasn't a good pitcher. But compared to Santana at 20-5, 2.61, and Mark at 16-10, 3.89, I still contend (tongue-in-cheek) that Mark was better at predicting than pitching this year. Now, if our Sox had won the division and Mark had won 20 games and the Cy Young, the topic of this thread would have been about what he did not what he said.

Maybe he can give a call to KW to predict what players it is gonna take to get us over the top in 2005...

That is well said. Being right about the Twins is small consolation to another season not playing in October. Besides, what does this say about the Sox? If they can't best the Twins, how can they move up to the level of the Red Sox and Yankees?

Sarcasm is difficult to detect on the internet and we've had some heated "Buehrle Sucks and is not an elite pitcher!" vs "Buehrle is definately an elite pitcher!" conversations in the past, so I thought you were talking about Buehrle in that context.

Twins 3 years in postseason, Sox none, whether Minn loses or not I would rather the Sox made the playoffs all 3 years, not an excuse for Sox every time Twins lose.

I think you missed off the most important part:

We need 'Buddha' Buerhle to tell KW what players it will take to get us over the top in 2005 that the White Sox can sign...

And good job by Burlymon the prognosticator. At least now he wont have to make that phone call to any Minny radio stations or anything like that to apologize.

We finished 9 games behind a team that won one postseason game on the back of the best pitcher in the AL and we are happy why?
