Here's a great article in the Sun-Times today:
http://www.suntimes.com/output/couch/cst-spt-greg04.html
Good line:
Welcome back to Cubdom, Greg. You were born a Cub, destined to a career of meaninglessness. So you left for Atlanta, made a Hall of Famer of yourself, won the World Series. You have been a winner, which is to say an Atlanta Braves player. And now you are back as a Cub, wearing a golf cap while your old team goes to the playoffs.
Couch suggests that the love affair between the fans and the Cubs is NOT one-side and wonders whether the fans' patience is finally up. I have to disagree here. He's forgetting that most Cub fans have a noxious combination of money and stupidity. They'll keep paying scalpers prices just to be at Wrigley Field and most won't even be paying attention to the action on the field.
