I think I'd use the term "locked in" to describe him.

Now I wonder if he'll somehow be denied the NL MVP award, considering that the Giants fell short.

Yeah on Saturday, Joe Buck rattled off all the categories he led the Cards in this year. A rookie no less. And he played like 4 different positions.
