Let's do it. Now all the teams are set, how far do we think each team will go?

AL
TWINS vs. YANKEES
RED SOX vs. ANGELS

NL
DODGERS vs. CARDINALS
ASTROS vs. BRAVES

Wow, Yankees vs. Twins. Who to root for there. I think I will pick the Yankees again. While I hate them, I just may hate the Twins more. I hate the Yankees as a team, but other than Jeter, I have no problems with specific players. As for the Twins, I hate every one of those bastards.

My pics: Yankees over Twins in 4
Red Sox over Angels in 5 (GREAT series!!)
Cardinals over Dodgers in 5
Astros over Braves in 4

Red Sox over Yankees in 6
Cardinals over Astros in 6

Red Sox over Cardinals in 7

And then those pathetic losers in Boston will finally shut up, after months of gloating and telling New Yorkers that this title somehow means more than their 26.

I think the Angels can take Boston. If they can, they have an excellent shot at the pennant.

I myself find it preferable to, say, a picture of Hunter/Burke with "Roll on Twins!" written at the bottom.

Strange bedfellows the postseason breeds.

But still, "Lets go Yankees"? Blech. :o:

He's not alone.

The last thing I want to see is the Sox become the "lovable losing cursed ones" in the AL.

Yanks over Twins in 5: (Johan can't pitch every game!)
Red Sox over Angels in 4: (I don't think the Angels starting staff is that good.)

Cardinals over the Dodgers in 4 games: (I don't think the Dodgers have a great starting staff)
Astros over Braves in 5: (It will probably the most boring and ugliest playoff series.)

Yanks over Red Sox in 7: (Red Sox will find some way to **** it up.)
Cardinals over Astros in 6:

Cards over Yanks in 5.

Twins in 4 - I think this is going to be a rude surprise for the east coast media. They got a glimpse of Johan last week, NYY "swept" the Twins after Johan and Radke were pulled. I think the Twins let them go 8 innings... I don't know about the NYY pitching. They've been better recently, but they've had a terrible year. I think the Twins can score on them. I think the Twins behind Radke/Johan will "steal" one of the games in NY. Silva has a legitimate shot of winning game 3 in the Metrodome. Johan ends it in game 4.

Red Sox in 5 - This should be an amazing series. Boston has better pitching, and I'm giving them the edge.

Twins in 6 - ok, this is a "homer" pick. Gut says Boston, heart says Minny. If Minny can get some rest, and can start Johan in games 2 or possibly in game 1, the Twins have a good shot. I'm hoping that I can avoid seeing K.Lohse EVER in the playoffs. But in a good way.

Cardinals in 3 - Dodgers aren't that good. Pitching slightly overrated. Cardinals are amazing. 3 legitimate MVP candidates. Enough pitching to get by.

Astros in 5 - I'd be shocked if the Braves win this. Houston has a better offense, and decent pitching. Lidge is amazing. Wow.

Cards in 6 - I think the Cards offense takes out the surging Astros. I like the Astro's pitching, but I like the Cardinals team better.

Twins in 7 - The Metrodome kills the Cardinals again. Much bitching will occur. (ok, Cardinals in 5 is my real prediction. They should overwhelm whomever they play. Boston can possibly hang for 6 games with them, but I don't think anyone beats the Cardinals this year....)

:gulp: Twins/Cards best WS matchup. Best pitcher against the best offense. Should be fun regardless.

I'm rooting for the Boston Red Sox in this post-season. I don't want to see the Yankees in the World Series, and I think the Red Sox have the best chance to prevent them from getting there. Besides, if the Red Sox win the World Series, the true ineptitude of the Chicago Cubs organization will be revealed to everyone. Of course, given that they are the Cubs, they probably wouldn't even care.

That's something I was considering.

Perhaps, just perhaps, if Boston finally won themselves a World Series, they would be torn from the Cubbie teat. There is far too much "love" between those two fanbases right now.
