The game is being delayed in the bottom of the eighth inning as the ground crew cleans up debris thrown onto the field.

BTW. Everyone should pick up today's Sun-Times. It's a collectors item. It seems as if half the sports section is dedicated to the choking history of the Cubs.

I'm surprised that Dusty didn't bring Darrin to his press conference to make sure all the questions were softballs.

The ending of this game was absolutely sublime in how the Cubs lost. Hell, the last few games have amazing. That club keeps finding new ways to lose.

On Wednesday I sent this email message to the Score's Mike Murphy. I didn't hear him read it. No surprise there.

IF the Cubs get eliminated this weekend, how will the fans at Wrigley respond?

Garbage on the field?
Weeping and gnashing of their teeth?
Kill an unsuspecting Sox fan outside Wrigley?

Hey, I can't believe it but pictures of the Cubbie fans a littering the field, delaying the game, are no where to be found?

Hey Grobber, how many Cubbie fans threw garbage on the field today? One or two?

It wasn't a baseball story related to the game, so it doesn't get reported.

I wonder if they showed the garbage-throwing incident on TV? Probably not; they are too addicted to showing crowd shots at Wrigley to show any such mayhem from the world's greatest fans.

I'm sure they were focused on some hot blonde in the crowd with her back turned to the camera and the field while she talked on her cell phone and drank Old Style.

Gosh, I've never seen any fat 36-year old divorcees from Park Ridge in the crowd. Glad they never show those women on tv.

It was shown on the WTBS/Atlanta feed for a period of time. 5-7 red-shirted pick-up guys collecting the plush "Goat" toys. Looked like 30+. There was a crowd shot, but nothing definitive. The Braves announcing crew and John Smoltz(who had been "miked" for the game) were having a little fun with the delay. I'm not sure, but I think I heard the term "goat droppings" mentioned. If not, it should have been.

man that was so sweet, I was picking up a package at the UPS on Jefferson and they had the game on the TV in the waiting room, then they started the rally, I was getting really worried. But I got my package quick and byt the time I got back in the car heard the final deflection on the radio and was cheering and pumping my fist Tiger style most of the way home. :D:

I've been wearing my Sox hat and jacket all weekend..I've passed a few others on the street who were wearing Sox hats, and they all had big smiles on their faces when they looked at me...and it just angers the Cubs fans even more  .

The last thing they want to see is a rejoicing Sox fan :bandance: .

I love it. I said before the season, wouldn't it be sweet if the Cubs didn't even make the playoffs? And look what happened!!! This is great. If the Sox can't win, atleast the Cubs are finding ways to lose. Here's to the 2nd place White Sox!!! :gulp: :gulp: :gulp:

To tell you the truth, I was actually kind of hoping that the Cubs would have pulled that one outta the fire yesterday. I was thinking it would be great to have the Cubs fans take one last rollercoaster ride this season before biting the dirt.

The Cubs win. Their fans would once again be certain that this is their year and then.......... they'd lose the next two games. Then I started getting worried about myself because that sounds kinda sadistic.
