According to MLB.com, Shingo Takatsu is a candidate for AL rookie of the year. His opposition includes Bobby Crosby, Daniel Cabrera, and Zach Greinke. Given, there are more deserving candidates than Shingo, but it would still be nice if Shingo could win. It probably will go to Crosby though, he's done a great job filling in for Tejada. Especially considering that this is his rookie year. It's nice that Shingo is getting some recognition for his work though.

Shingo is a fringe candidate and it's good that he's getting the attention deserved of a fringe candidate. Quite honestly I think Greinke should win ROY as he is currently posting a sub-4 ERA, which in the AL is quite hard to do.

Is Victor Martinez a rookie?

NO....especially how he tailed off the second half....we need a better closer for next year. shingo stuff will get hit. You saw how his era balooned from under 1 to whatever it is now. Plus when he closes and has a 3 run lead, he has to give up two runs.

Is Victor Martinez a rookie?
No. He's had a little too much playing time over the last 2 years.

As much as I would like to see him win it I think the other three candidates are more qualified to win it.

Bobby Crosby.

Bobby Crosby is going to win the ROY Award hands down

I think he should get at least some votes.

But hey, at least a Sox player is getting recognized for something other than sucking.
