I noticed in the Game Recap you said numerous times that Tom Kelly was playing the game like it was the World Series. While Manuel was well he was just being Manuel. I found this quote from Kelly in the AP story:


"There's no sense in playing if you're not going to finish as high as you can, no sense in putting on the uniform," Minnesota manager Tom Kelly said. "We want to win every time we come to the ballpark."

This is the first I've seen that quote but I'm not surprised to hear Kelly say something like that. Using Milton as a reliever was the big tip-off.
