The Cubune is reporting Matt Smith as the 3rd pitcher in addition to Bajenaru and Ulacia. They also report Pedro Lopez, Rogowski and Anderson as the 3 position player representatives for the White Sox.

Early Baseball America rosters had McCarthy and Andy Gonzalez slated to play instead of Smith and Lopez. Probably a good move, as Lopez is probably a little more advanced right now and McCarthy, coming off the most IP'd in his life career, could use the rest...

this is a great idea by the sox. letting bmac play could create another injury situation like wing, honel, malone, and stumm. the kid jumped 2 levels in one summer! let him rest!

Yeah. I was nervous to hear he was planning on pitching. This is a smart call.

Right on. His AFL team might lean too heavily on him if he steps up and dominates down there.

It's better to have the time off and take the next step in '05.

Knowing the Sox's luck with pitching prospects, this could only lead to advanced muscle atrophy.
