Heard on the radio today this stat. I'll preface this by saying I hate Bonds, but still find this incredible.

If you took away all of Bond hits this year and made them outs, credited him with his walks, he would still have a higher OBP than Vlad and Ortiz

I find this hard to believe. Can anyone confirm this?

Bonds (all numbers as of 9/22):

568 PA x .608 OBP = 345 times on base

345 - 129 hits = 216 t.o.b.

216 / 568 = .380 OBP

Vlad Guerrero - .381 OBP
David Ortiz - .372 OBP

Well now that's just silly if he didn't have any hits his walks would be decreased by 200.

I'm sure that Bonds walks would only really decrease by about 170 if he had no hits!:D: :?: :o: :(:
