The Sox's bullpen has allowed 24 runs in its last 19 innings, which Guillen attributes to fatigue. The Sox manager is willing to take full blame for most of his team's recent bullpen struggles.

"I am squeezing the crap out of those kids," Guillen said. "I wish I didn't have to use those guys. I use (Neal) Cotts and (Jon) Adkins more than anyone thought I would, but they have really pitched their hearts out for me."

Cotts entered Saturday's game with 51 appearances and a 5.03 ERA. Adkins has appeared in 46 games with a 4.94 ERA. - Daily Southtown, September 19, 2004

To be fair to Jon and Neal, Ozzie's right. He has had to overuse a sub-par bullpen all season. Adkins Marte and Neal look great when they are pitching an inning each every 2-3 games. When they come in consecutive starts, or have to pitch 2 innings straight is usually when they get lit up. I've liked what I've seen out of both of them, regardless of the #'s saying they've gotten shelled.

(Did I just say Ozzie is right? More importantly, did Ozzie actually say something positive about his players?!)
