A look at how the Sox coaching staff and Fron office Personnal did in the majors:

Jerry Manuel-5 yrs., 127 AB, .150 BA, 3 HR

Gary Pettis-11 yrs, .236 BA, 568 R, 354 SB, 104 CS (he was caught stealing 22.7% of the time)

Wallace Johnson-9 yrs., .255 BA, led league in pinch-hits in 1988 & 1987

Nardi Contreras-1 yr, 5.79 ERA, 8 games

Art Kusnyer-6 yrs., .176 BA, 3 HR

Joe Nossek-6 yrs., .228 BA, 8 SB!

Gary Ward-12 yrs., .276 BA, 130 HR

Kenny Williams-6 yrs., .218 BA, 27 HR

You can make your own inferences, some say the worst players make the best coaches. Others wouldn't let any of these guys (with the exception of Ward) near any of their players.
