2004 Sox: Hogies or Grinders?

We all know that Kenny Williams loves grinders. He has made it known that grinders are his type of players, the type that get things done, well KW, lets go over how many grinders we actually have on this current roster.

Konerko-HR Hogie
Jose Valentin-K Hogie, HR Hogie
Joe Crede-Dissapointment Hogie
Joe Borchard-LTP Hogie
Jon Garland-Lots of Potential Hogie

Now, don't get me wrong, a team needs power hitters, speed guys, defensive guys, etc., but it would be nice to have one or two players that could package one or more of these things.

I'm still waiting for KW's definition of a grinder, apparently it means "guy who starts making his golf trip plans in August".

Buehrle tends to be a little of both. He's one of our best pitchers and is USUALLY good, but I'm not ready to label him a grinder until he gets a bit more consistet.

Rowand is the only real hard-nosed grinder on this team. Crazy Carl was a career grinder - until this year. Maybe he can try being in shape next year.
