Wrong place, but I heard about this. Messed up stuff. They acted like police officers and kidnapped her.

I heard this happens a lot in the Slavic countries. People kidnap the family members of pro athletes and hold them for ransom. It's sickening.

We'll pay them for taking him---as opposed to them holding him for ransom. We'll even throw in a player to be named later---Crede.

Ugueth Urbina, reliever for the Tigers and often mentioned in trade rumors, has left Detroit to be with his family in Venezuela. I wonder if Maggs knows him, and I'm sure Ozzie does seeing as he was with FLA last year. I wish him all the best, and could never imagine what would be going through my mind if 4 thugs kidnapped my mother. Hopefully this ends happily.

While the jokes are funny, this stuff is no laughing matter. I pray for Urbina's mother's safe return.

Amen! Even a Detroit Tiger's player doesn't deserve to go through this. He must be a wreck right now. My prayers will be with him (but not with his team)

It's fairly common in Mexico as well.
