Which sox player do you want the most to not return next year. Be it not re-signing him or sending him down to AAA.

Take Roberto Alomar into the woods and leave him there.

I voted Diaz because I think he needs another year in AAA.

The real answer to this question isn't even among your choices: Roberto Alomar.

I'd rather have any of those guys at their current salaries than 30 GIDP Konerko at 8+ Million.

Ugh.

What do you mean? GIDP isn't on the statline on TV. He's got 30+ homers...hello.

Although I like him, I voted for Valentin for a couple of reasons. First of all, all of the rest of the guys on the list make peanuts, so losing them wouldn't do much in allowing the Sox the flexibility to add someone else. Also, as clutch as he is and as much as I think his defense is underrated, the fact is he is exactly what's wrong with this team - low OBP, homer or nothing. Plus, the Sox have a ready replacement in Uribe, who will be much cheaper, is better defensively and, while he doesn't have as a good a stick as Valentin, should be adequate offensively, hitting at the bottom of the order.

George Offman (or whatever his name is) on WSCR just reported that an unamed Sox exec said the chance of Valentin returning is less than 50 percent. Good. Should be less than 10 percent. I appreciate his effort and work ethic, but it's time.

I agree with you 100%.

On another note, I went for Timo...the guys blows PERIOD! Yes Manos is another I want gone, but he is already gone from this team. Everybody has a bad year, and this is hopefully Crede's. Diaz belongs in the minors and Shoeneweis is a good 5th started, nothing more.

Timo is has gotta go!

I wish I could vote for 2/3 of this list, but Jose takes the cake for me. As of today the Sox are paying $42,016.80 per strike out, no thanks.

Magglio Ordonez. I don't know if he's done or not, but I do have a strong inclination that if we do resign him, he will be done.

Crede. "There's nothing left for me to learn in the minors." "I don't need to play winter baseball." Get you passport ready you squinty, frail, weak-minded girlie-man. And leave the Bam Bam stick at home.

Neal Cotts is a distant second. I have a sneaky fastball and the most unnatural hesitation in my lead foot during my pitches.

I wish I could play for the Sox for just one day at that rate of pay...I'd be making the big bucks.

Jose would make one hell of a bench player. If he can take a major pay cut to sit the bench, then do that.

Why would you include Timo? He comes through with a big hit 50% of the time....or at least it seems like he does. I think he could be a definite asset to the '05 team. I voted Borchard just because he doesn't look like a hitter.

Timo is has gotta go!Timo was singed to be a bench player, which he has done well at. He is a very serviceable reserve outfielder.

Edit: BTW, hopefully the door doesn't hit Jose on the way out.

Trust me: His cost per strikeout will be way less by the end of the season.

Timo is a "grinder" and a joy to watch. His antics, be it his suicide squeeze against the Twins or his mind****ing of Zambrano, are classic, and have brought me much pleasure. How anyone would want to see him go is beyond me.

I would vote Garland as well, but, out of these choices, Crede just edges out Borchard for my vote.

I agree, but I would not agree with him as a starter. Or a platoon outfielder like this year. I'd like him to give a good outfielder a rest off the bench, or be here for Injury situations.

Jose Valentin... is quite possibly worse than Joe Crede right now. Dumb Errors in the field. Dumb moves on the basepads. Strikeout king of Chicago. Horrible Average.

Do we get some kind of refund from his salary? My god.

I think a guy like Jose is bad for the team. He's been medicore at best over 2 years and he's still the guy. I sends a message that poor play is rewarded. I can't see that working at Yankee Stadium.

I had to vote for Borchard. He appears to have just a bit less confidence at the plate than Crede and has a higher strikeout ratio. But at least Crede can field.
Someone better hit a 406' homer quick so Joe is removed from New Comiskey Park's(neva gonna call it the Cell) record book.
