Ok, so I was bored and decided to post this and see what kind of response it gets. Everytime I see a new player with my name I always mentally add them to my imaginary team with players sharing my name. Well a few weeks ago we had a Friday the 13th and I briefly saw BBTN do a thing with the all-Jason team. I don't remember their exact team, but being that my name is Jason, I figured I would come up with the best team I could with players name Jason. I think it would be interesting for others to do the same and see what first name can produce the best team. As for the team itself, you have to use current players only. Also I would say no prospects that haven't at least appeared in a major league game. You can use a DH and every player has to be assigned to a position that they actually play. No more than 25 players on your roster though if your name is popular. With that said, here's my all Jason team as assembled by me.
1. C - Jason Kendall
2. CF - Jason Michaels
3. LF - Jason Bay
4. 1B - Jason Giambi
5. DH - Jason Varitek
6. RF- Jayson Werth
7. SS - Jason Smith
8. 2B - Jason Romano
9. 3B - Jason Maxwell
Bench C - Jason Larue
Bench OF - Jason Lane
Bench C/1B - Jason Phillips
Bench OF/1B - Jason Grabowski
Bench - OF Jason Tyner
SP - Jason Schmidt
SP - Jason Marquis
SP - Jason Johnson
SP - Jason Jennings
SP - Jason Grilli
RP - Jason Davis
RP - Jason Kershner
RP - Jason Christiansen
RP - Jason Frasor
RP - Jason Grimsley
CL - Jason Isringhausen
I'd put my team of Jason's up against any other team right now. The starting rotation is led by one of the best in the game. The only question if the #5 spot (just like the Sox). The bullpen is balanced and solid. The lineup 1-6 is very potent. The big question marks are 2B, SS, and 3B where there aren't any good Jason's. The bench has some good depth with Larue, Lane, Phillips and I had to put Tyner on there. The infield though is the biggest weakness. Throw out your team full of players with your name. Also, other Jason's, am I missing anyone? Let's see some other teams.
