Wow. Let's hope that'll be another 5,000 crowd, upping the chances for me.

Lucky they aren't auctioning the jersey then you need to mortgage the house. These babies sell for an arm and a leg and sometimes a lung. These are as authentic as you can get and the sale is tax deductable for the charity. I saw an independant league jersey sell for $5000.

You can pick them up at the White Sox garage sale for much less than that.

Exactly. The Joe Nossek and Brian Simmons jerseys were only going for $3500 this year. :D:

You're kidding, right? The value did increase depending on the player, but IIRC the most expensive I remember were Maggs and Frank for about $800 and I think they were also autographed. BP jerseys (used, of course) ranged from $35-$125(?). I think it's a good deal. I got Porzio's hat (Porzio b/c it fit my head) for $10...you can't even buy a new authentic hat for that much!

Yeah, I'm kidding about the $3500 price, but I still saw some jerseys that were way overpriced. The BP jerseys you speak of were all in the high numbers...60's through 80's, and the condition wasn't great- thus why they were so cheap. Any name jersey had at least a $200 price tag on it, and the Frank, Belle and Ventura jerseys they still had were around $700-$800. Those prices actually seem more reasonable to me than paying $350 for a Chris Singleton jersey or $300 for an Al Osuna jersey.

I think I'd buy a new hat for $24 before wearing Porzio's :D:

Considering that a new authentic jersey would cost you between $150-$200, I don't think it is unreasonable to spend $300-$400 on a game used jersey...if you have the money to spend on that sort of thing, which I don't (that's why the hat. maybe next year a bat :D: )

Did they drastically increase the price of the garage sale stuff at the last one? I went 2 years ago and you could easily pick up a no name jersey for about $100 to $150 bucks. 350 sounds pretty steep unless they really raised the prices.

No, you can pick up a "no name", "unpopular", or former player game used jersey for about $100 (maybe even less). The "popular" players (Thomas, Ordonez) would be the ones in the 4300 range.

I would spring for the weekend package and get your butt up here (if you can afford it). I split it with a friend and for about $110 each we got a room at the hotel for the 2 nights, 4 tickets for each day to the fest, and 4 vouchers for Sox tickets.

Albert belle jeresys were part of what i called the "near-free "stuff" clearance" this past year.I bought 10 of them at 5 bucks each,so everybody i know has a belle jersey comin for Xmas

also,BP jerseys were 20 bucks, but the Thomas and Ventura jerseys and the broken bats were way,way overpriced:mad:

LOL...no way man. I like that the hat was sweated on at US Cellular by a Sox player no matter who he is. Hell of a deal, IMHO.
