Wow, the University of Chicago actually produced 10 MLB players.

Sure, the most recent one played in 1946 and they batted .187 combined, but they have two stolen bases between them!

Wally Pipp went to Catholic U. You would think that would be one of those anecdotes they would highlight at the athletic department.

Little known fact: in addition to being a HOF coach in both football and basketball, A.A. Stagg also coached more than 400 wins for the baseball team.

That's pretty neat. I did a search for any Butler University graduates, and I found that Doug Jones, the closer, actually attended school there for two years (1976-77). For those of you familiar with him, Jones played eighteen seasons in the Major Leagues, compiling five All Star appearances and 303 saves.
