The Red Sox have scored 671 runs, the yankmees 652, Boston era 4.17, NY 4.50. The reason the Red Sox are so far behind, the yankmees have one 11 more 1 run games and on the road Boston is 1-11 in 1 run games.

Gordon, Quantrill, and Rivera have been awesome, while the Red Sox run a bunch of guys with ERAs in the mid-fours out there until Foulke, who only has 20 or so saves, which means they win a lot of games comfortably, and obviously struggle in the close ones.
