I don't see anyway that this team finishes higher than 3rd place. Cleveland is a much better team now, especially with Wickman back. I beg of you Kenny, NO MORE TRADES in which we give up a young player! This team doesn't have it.

I did. The game wasn't rain delayed though. The power went out....3 times. They finally got it to stay on and finished out the game.

Another pathetic effort tonight. I'm sick of Garland.

For all the early season crap Hawk spewed about Ozzie making a difference in Garland by sticking with him for longer periods, he's still the same damn pitcher we've had for the last 3 years. If they can get anything for him in the off-season, I say do it. It's criminal to pay this guy anything but the league minimum.

Unless the Sox show a different side to themselves in the next week or so, I am going to consider this season over.As optimistic as I've been over the past few days...I'm beginning to agree with you. This hurts...this really hurts.

The Sox made a 20-something kid with a losing record look like a Cy Young Award candidate. Solo homers when you're trailing big only cut the defecit by 1. This is by far one of the worst road trips I've seen this team on. Even the debacles on the west coast weren't this painful.

There is absolutely no excuse why the Sox shouldn't win AT LEAST 3 out of 4 vs. Cleveland over the weekend. Unless Minnesota goes on a swoon, the Sox are in big trouble...as if they weren't in big enough trouble already.

Before the Baggiedomers got on their ridiculous win streak, they capped off a big losing streak by dropping 3 of 4 to this same KC team.

Would you stop with this third place talk already. Some people have been saying "I can't see this team finishing above third place" like a month ago, and guess what... still not in third place yet.

The "best offense in the majors!!!11" Jndjans also dropped 2 of 3 to the Royals less than a week ago. They're just as bad as us.

The worst we can do is still 2nd place.

It was sad to see our guys once again make a pathetic underachieving team like the Royals look like post season material. Maybe I was being delusional for thinking that this team would start playing at another level at this crucial point of the season. I'd say they look like crap, but even fecal matter stinks less than our White Sox. It seems like that five game winning streak was from a different season alltogether. Welcome back, Robbie Alomar!! Here's hoping that you can light a fire underneath some of those underachieving pieces of dead wood that are currently gracing our roster.

Garland's a 5th starter at best.

I'm content with the top 3 in the rotation (Buehrle, Garcia, Contreras). After that scrap it and see what else is out there.

Look at it this way. If we win every time Buerhle, Freddie, and Cuenta start, and lose every time Judy and Schoe/Catman start, that gives us around 90 wins.

And on a more serious note I don't think Buerhle will lose another game this season.

Also, I'm no armchair manager, but you gotta pinch-hit for Caballo. Not only did everyone, including him, know that he was gonna blow it, but how many times has he failed on important ABs?

If I'm remembering correctly, he has failed to get a runner from 3rd home with less than 2 outs on three straight occasions.

Why not put in oh, I dunno, maybe, the pinch hit specialist on the team?

My favorite Carlos Lee was the Carlos Lee that had the 28 game hitting streak. The one that hit to right and center most of the time. Level swings, working the count. He was so clutch.

This Carlos Lee, the one who wants to hit a homer every time, the one who has no clue what a baseball situation is and when you are supposed to take a strike instead of swinging for the fences on the first pitch when there is a rally going on in the 9th inning. This one you can keep. He has some value trade him, get something for him before his salary goes up anymore.

Garland needs to go, this Judy garland routine where he looks like cy young and then when something doesnt go his way he blows up. Then when he is questioned in the papers, he states this is the way I pitch so live with it. screw that. Take your heartless, gutless effort and find another team to develop with.

These people should take a good look at Rowand. Here is guy that doesnt have the talent that these guys do, but I would take him over any of this crap any day of the week and twice on sunday.

Was it Ozzie that was complaining, or at least talking about, Carlos's lack of homeruns and extra base hits during the first part of the season?

Say hello to the power-hitting Carlos.

Personally, I think it's the goatee.

All you JG haters can SUCK WIND. How about some offense??? I mean, lets get pissed at our pitching right now, b/c our offense is on a such a tear. Smart move. Gimme a freakin break. Can we maybe get to these dominant KC starters in the first couple innings??? More than 4 hits through 8 or whatever it was?? I'm as frustarted as anyone, but its b/c of our hitting, or lack-there-of. Granted, JG wasnt awesome, but getting no help from the 'O' forces you to try to pitch a perfect. Theres waaaay too much negativity on this bard flowin JG's way.

Should have watched the whole game people. You missed a nice shot of Ozzie picking his nose. He must have ripped out a couple of hairs on that one. Other than that, nice comeback, but as Hawk and DJ stated, the Sox just lost 2 games to pitchers with a combined record going in of 4-17.

Garland sucked tonight, no question, but he wasn't the only one. There's plenty of blame to go around, guys. We're 2-9 in our last 11 ballgames, and we've lost 6.5 games in the standings to the hated Twinkies. I can't even pick a scapegoat. This is a total team failure.

AMEN! Center a package around this chucklehead for a high OBP RF and take his money, Valentin's money, and some of Magglio's money and make an offer to Carl Pavano or Russ Ortiz along the lines of 5 years, $50 million. If neither one accept, offer 5 years, $30 million (with performance-based incentives that can kick it up to 35-40 million) to Matt Morris. Trading Everett to a team starved for power can free up some cash, and add some depth to the farm system.

Blaming the offense is ridiculous?? BLAMING THE OFFENSE IS RIDICULOUS?? That statement is ridiculous. No one is saying 6 earned runs is anywhere close to being good, but come on. You don't expect the bats to just roll over for Greinke, or whatever his name was. Maybe you were encouraged by that offensive explosion in the 9th. Then again, up by 5 runs i'm pretty sure Curasco was just trying to throw strikes and get the game over with. Glad we got to him. Last time I checked, 1 run through 8 innings doesnt win you a lot of ballgames. Ozzie could have thrown randy johnson out there tonight and we still would have lost. JB98 said it right---spread the blame. JG, offense, everybody...thats fine with me. But not just Garland. I think I just popped a blood vessel. See what you make me do!?!?

P.S. Jon, if you read this, you owe me a beer for stickin up for your ass against these vultures. :gulp:

but giving up 6 runs to a depleted ROYALS team... c'mon.

our offense needs a major shakeup (re: trade valentine, konerko, etc)
but pitching was a major fault tonight. as has been the case with judy...

Sad to say but there's plenty of blame to go around. Our "offense" has either given up or they were way too dependent on Maggs & Frank. Any team that loses a #3 and a #4 is going to have a very hard time keeping pace, much less gaining ground. Rowand right now is the only one who looks like he's picking up the slack.

Jon Garland to me looks like he'll always be a 12-12 4.50ERA type of pitcher. What upsets me about Garland is that he's usually getting clubbed around the 3rd or 4th inning, after he's been through the lineup the first time. Jon, learn from your mistakes and make adjustments! If he can't do that then this is what to expect of JG the rest of his White Sox career.

Center a package around this chucklehead for a high OBP RFWhat team would trade a high OBP right-fielder for Jon Garland? He has almost zero trade value right now, so if you can trade him for anything, make it a prospect or two--at least KW would save a few $$. Funnel the savings into keeping your current high-OBP/SLG right fielder.
