Yeah, those numbers adequately demonstrate what happened to the team in July. The question then becomes whether or not the Thomas/Ordonez injuries played a role in the general decline in individual .OBP for the rest of the team or if other factors were involved. The two major exceptions were Lee, who only declined a couple of points, and Rowand, who went on a tear.

I suppose one could speculate that the absence of Thomas/Ordonez caused the line-up to be shuffled, thereby requiring players to hit in spots let than optimal for their abilities. Also, removing Thomas from the line-up probably affects the kinds of pitches seen by hitters at the top of the order. On the other hand, the team could have entered a team-wide slump like it did during portions of the previous three seasons.
